This project included full service for the design documentation and construction phases of a new dwelling for a family with a member who uses a wheelchair. Located in the ACT, this modern passive solar design incorporates features including an accessible indoor hydrotherapy pool, indoor exercise room and dedicated in-house carer facilities.

‘Two Homes’ under one roof, combining highly accessible design (LHD Silver & Gold Levels) with multigenerational living, allowing families at all stages of life and ability to live together but maintain their privacy and independence. The smaller ‘Multigenerational Home’ is fully self-contained, has a separate and private lockable entry, is fully soundproofed from the larger ‘Home’.

Two-level home with lift, flat entry and surrounds, wide doorways, open showers and toilets with provisions for grab rails, accessible features in cabinetry. Easy access to pantry and appliances. Door hardware to enable ease of opening to access clothing etc. Automation allows access to screens, vacuum maid, data box etc.

Lifetime Home Display home: Tasmania
This home was built to LHD Platinum level with:
- over 30 accessible features (reinforced bathroom walls, no steps and wider doorways / hallways);
- low maintenance features
- Smart Assistive Technology integrated throughout, including voice and touch controls for blinds, lights, temperature, entertainment and door locks, motion sensors to activate low level lighting at night, helping prevent falls.

The owner adapted a project home design to include:
- a level entry from garage at front door and to alfresco
- accessible wet areas
- 920 mm wide front and internal doors;
- lever handles, switches at 110mm; and GPOs at 450mm
